Freedive the Rainforest
Join us for an unforgettable adventure in the Atherton Tablelands rainforest on our full-day tour. Our day will start with a pickup (anywhere in Cairns CBD area) or meeting at the Scubabo dive centre at 7am, followed by a scenic drive to the Lake Barrine Tea House.
After arriving at the tea house, we’ll begin the day with a morning theory lesson on the basics of freediving while indulging in some delicious morning tea and scones. From there, we’ll head to the National Park, where we’ll enjoy a rejuvenating stretching and breathing session on the grass, preparing our bodies and minds for the day ahead.
EXPERIENCE THE WONDERS OF THE RAINFOREST
Following the stretching and breathing session, we’ll continue with a static breath-hold workshop to hone your freediving skills. You’ll learn techniques to increase your breath-hold time and feel more confident in the water.
Next, we’ll embark on a guided boat tour of Lake Barrine, where you’ll learn about the natural flora and fauna that inhabit this stunning ecosystem. Our knowledgeable guide will offer insights into the rainforest’s wonders, providing a deep appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us.
After the boat tour, we’ll break for lunch in the park, allowing you to soak in the peaceful rainforest surroundings. We’ll then take a short walk to the Kauri Trees, where you can marvel at the towering giants, immersing yourself in the beauty of the rainforest.
a once in a lifetime opportunity
The highlight of the day will be the in-water freediving session, where you’ll have the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned in the morning theory lesson and static breath-hold workshop, exploring the underwater world of the lake.
As the day draws to a close, we’ll make our way back to Cairns, arriving before 5 pm, marking the end of our unforgettable adventure.
